In short: Borealis has no servers of its own and doesn't ask you to create an account. Your sessions, tasks, stats and settings are stored only on your device. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't use advertising trackers.

The app stores locally, on your phone's storage, information such as: your chosen theme, your tasks, your timer durations, your focus stats (sessions, minutes, streak) and whether you've seen the intro. This information is never sent to us — we have no servers to receive it — and stays on your device.
If you buy Borealis Pro (one-time payment), the charge is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. To manage the state of your purchase we use RevenueCat, which processes an anonymous identifier of your installation and technical device information to know whether your Pro access is active. We don't receive or store your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy, Apple's and Google's.
The app may schedule local notifications to alert you when a focus session or break ends. They are generated and scheduled on your device; no information is sent to external servers.
The app uses Google Fonts. The first time they load, this may involve a request to Google's servers (which receives your IP address, as with any download). Afterwards they are cached on your device.
The app only requests the notifications permission (and exact alarms on Android) to alert you when each phase ends. You can revoke it anytime from your system settings; the app will keep working.
Since the data lives on your device, you keep it. To remove it completely, just clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Borealis is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Under Chilean data protection law (Law No. 19.628 and its updates) and frameworks such as the GDPR, you may exercise your rights of access, rectification and deletion. Since we don't store your personal data on our own servers, the most direct way is to manage the information on your device; for any other request, write to us at [email protected].
We may update this policy. We'll post the new version on this same page with its update date.
